Dream It Up!

What a perfect time of the year! We reflect on what has recently passed; we dream up our new beginnings, our future selves. We don’t have to make any immediate choices, we’re just dreaming. We’re not judging, we’re not deciding which of our dreams to pursue. We’re not making any plans. We’re just dreaming—that’s how it starts. Dream big and little dreams, as many in any category you can think of: from health and fitness, wealth and legacy, personal and professional development, leisure and travel, to self-expression and education. There are no wrong answers: you’re dreaming about your possibilities.Schedule a time to go to a place where you’ll be comfortable and undisturbed. Bring pen and notebook. No matter your age, ask yourself: What do I want to be, have, do, see, and experience, over the next 50 years? Write that at the top of the first page. Dream up and write down anything that pops to mind. Move quickly, don’t dwell on the answers. You’re focused on dreaming them up. Go for quantity; quality comes later. It's your Dream List—there are no wrong answers!Your goal is to generate ideas in massive amounts which will give you an abundance to choose from later, when you’ll select which ones resonate with you. You’ve heard: You’re only as free as your options. Create as many options as you can and you’ll see farther, aim higher, have more room to roam, with more choices for your future. Now you create, later you evaluate. You’re answering what, not how or when. Dream big, dream small, dream silly: just dream it up and write it down. When you’ve accomplished this, you’ve kick-started a happier, more fulfilling life, guaranteed!
