You know, technology is great in sales. It really helps us, you know, I thank goodness that they've developed all this technology to help me sell people better. Listen, better, qualify better.
But here's what really annoys me about technology. How many salespeople are hiding behind technology, especially email. The majority of salespeople right now have been trained to send out emails, follow up emails.
I've been trained, and I continue to do it. When you want to make a connection with somebody, pick up the phone and call them.
It's one of the reasons why I train salespeople to get their cell phone numbers. Now you can call them. You could leave a personal message. You could text them.
Salespeople, please, please, please, stop hiding behind email. It builds bad habits. You're competing with 9 million other emails and other internet distributed information. People are jonesing for human connection right now.
Call them. Talk to them. Listen to them. Meet with them. Do not hide behind email. And if you feel that you are stuck, pick up the phone and call someone.
