What’s Next?

When we train salespeople, we ask them to focus on the next step, not every step. We tell them to ask themselves constantly, What’s my next sale? Who’s my next call? The next step must be taken before all the other steps are necessary. Wasn’t it Confucius who said, A journey of a thousand miles begins with your first step?

When we coach executives, we ask them to focus on their priorities, not everything. If the most important is not attended to, that other stuff is just commentary. You can do anything, but not everything.

When you focus on priorities, you are guaranteed to make significant improvement in what is most important to you.

Make sure you understand the logical sequence to accomplish your goals.

Work the important now, take the next step first. Why?

Scattered thinking leads to wasted actions.

So, keep asking: What should I do next?

Answer your question, then focus on doing exactly what you intended.

That’s how you achieve better results.

This works especially well when we’re confused.

That’s the time it’s essential we redirect our attention and focus on the appropriate action. And here’s all you have to do, just keep asking, What should I do next?
