What’s Next?
When we train salespeople, we ask them to focus on the next step, not every step. What’s my next sale? Who’s my next call? The next step must be taken before all the other steps matter.
When we coach executives, we ask them to focus on their priorities, not everything. If the most important isn’t attended to, the rest is just commentary. You can do anything — but not everything.
Make sure you understand the logical sequence to accomplish your goals. Work the important now. Take the next step first. Scattered thinking leads to wasted actions.
This works especially well when you’re confused. That’s exactly when to redirect your attention and keep asking: what should I do next?
Answer one question — what should I do next? — then do exactly what you intended.
The gap between where you are and where you want to be is real. So is the path to closing it. If you're ready to do something about it, we'd like to talk.
